Adult School / High School / ROP Articulation

Adult School/High School/ROP articulation provides a legal process to align curriculum and instruction providing a seamless career pathway transition between courses, grades and schools at secondary institutions (including Adult Schools), community colleges and college/university levels. Articulation is open to all public Adult Schools, High Schools, and ROP's in California.

These articulation agreements create sequences of progressive, non-duplicated education leading to technical skill proficiency, a credential, a certificate, and/or a degree in a wide range of fields and careers. Such agreements include "credit by exam" to receive college credit for rigorous coursework taken at the high school level (separate from AP classes).

High School/Adult School articulated credit is transcripted as a letter grade on a student’s Las Positas College transcript. The final credit exam score will be used as a Credit-by-Exam for the articulated Las Positas College course (California Education Code §55753.5).  The credit appears on a student’s college transcript with the same letter grade they received in their high school class. For example, if a student receives a grade of “B” in their high school articulated course, their college transcript will show the grade of “B” next to the articulated college course.  Las Positas College will not remove the articulated grade from a student’s transcript once awarded. If there is an error with the grade, the grade change policy listed in the college catalog will apply.
