About High School Students Earning Early Credit
Las Positas College's High School Early Credit program (formerly called the High School Credit program) provides opportunities for High School students in the Tri-Valley Area to complete course through individual election also known as concurrent enrollment. Dual/Concurrent enrollment – enables high school students to take college courses, taught by college professors, either on our campus or at their school site. These courses can count toward the high school diploma, allowing students to get a head start on their higher education goals.
Participation in dual/concurrent enrollment is likely to improve high school completion rates, increase college enrollment and degree attainment. It will also reduce time to degree and the cost of education while eliminating barriers to college and career.
