Las Positas College Guided Pathways

Academic and Career Pathways group common areas of interest together to enhance the college experience and career preparation for all Las Positas College students. These Pathways provide clear course sequencing for our degrees and certificates, key milestone information for students to track along their journey, and proactive, intentional support from dedicated Student Success Team members and our campus constituents. Student Success Teams will provide accessible, inclusive support services for all students and promote the timely completion of transfer, degree, and career-technical goals to reduce equity gaps.

Guided Pathways Mission Statement

The heart of Guided Pathways at Las Positas College is our diverse student body. The Mission of Guided Pathways is to ensure equity and enhance the college experience and career preparation for all our students. Through our efforts and the guidance of student success teams, we commit to providing opportunities for students to discover, clarify, and enter their pathway, and to persist and succeed in achieving their academic and career goals.

Las Positas College Equity Statement

Las Positas College will achieve equity by changing the impacts of structural racism, ableism, homophobia, and systematic poverty on student success and access to higher education, achieved through continuous evaluation and improvement of all services. We believe in a high-quality education focused on learning and an inclusive, culturally-relevant environment that meets the diverse needs of all our students.

LPC Equity Definition: Equity is parity in student educational outcomes. It places student success and belonging for students of color and disproportionately impacted students at the center.

Guided Pathways Responsibilities

The Guided Pathways responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Monitoring progress of the Guided Pathways Work Plan, including coordinating the annual assessment of key elements
Developing, initiating, participating in, and evaluating activities that relate to Guided Pathways
Creating, leading, monitoring, and advising work groups • Leading the conversation about Guided Pathways with constituent groups throughout the College; as appropriate, coordinate with Guided Pathways efforts across the District
Identifying and advising areas of campus work, including technology, that need focused attention related to Guided Pathways
Working with the Professional Development Committee to recommend professional development opportunities
Regularly collaborating on Guided Pathways-related initiatives with college groups, such as College Council, Student Equity and Achievement Committee, Institutional Planning and Effectiveness Committee, Academic and Classified Senates, Student Government, Administrative Staff, and other relevant committees/groups.
Reviewing, documenting, and reporting on accreditation standards linked to the committee’s charge.
