Medical information is confidential and will not be released without patient's written consent, except as required by law.

The Student Health & Wellness Center is your access to high quality health care and wellness education on campus. The health center is managed and operated by Stanford Health Care ValleyCare. All registered students may use the Health & Wellness Center. Most services are included in your health fee, while other services are available at low costs. In order to keep your wait time under ten minutes medical services are provided on an appointment basis. All urgent problems are handled immediately.

Primary and Urgent Care

  • Nurse practitioner assessment, evaluation, treatment and prescriptions for minor illnesses and minor injury
  • FREE Physical Exams and Well Checks
  • NO DMV or Sports Physicals
  • Low cost diagnostic laboratory testing and screenings
  • Emergency triage and referrals for complex and emergency medical conditions
  • FREE Over the counter medications, band-aids, ice pack, and condoms

Women's Health Services

  • Clinical breast exams
  • Birth Control - Condoms available free at front desk *limit 2 per day*
  • Pregnancy testing
  • STI testing and counseling *lab fees apply*
  • FPACT referrals to Axis Woman's Health Services


  • MMR - $43.00
  • Varicella - $95.00 x2
  • Tetanus / Pertussis -$35.00
  • Flu shot - No Charge during late Fall while supply is available
  • Hepatitis A - $60.00 x2
  • Hepatitis B - $46.00 x 3
  • TB Testing - No Charge

Personal Counseling & Wellness Services

  • Crisis counseling
  • Short term counseling by a marriage family therapy intern - 8 sessions per semester as of Fall 2013
  • Referrals for mental health services in the community Axis Mental Health Services

Stay Well Services

  • Chill Time with Therapy Dogs & Chair Massage ~ Events & DeStress Weeks

Students Rights and Responsibilities

We want you to be an active participant regarding your health care. You have the right to know and understand:

  • Health services policies
  • Privacy Rights
  • Names of persons providing services
  • What medicine is recommended and its side effects and risks
  • What tests are being recommended and why
  • The prospects for resolution of your problem
  • How the problem can be prevented in the future

Your Responsibilities

  • Being honest about your past medical history and what you expect from each visit
  • Answering questions completely
  • Making sure you understand directions
  • Following the prescribed plan
  • Reporting changes in your health or adverse effects of treatment
  • Keeping scheduled appointments
