NCIS 201 - CyberSecurity Camp

This course will introduce the novice to cybersecurity career opportunities, cyber ethics, online safety, and cyber threats. Students will be introduced to cybersecurity principles, virtual machines, basic Windows and Linux administration security policies, fundamental CISCO network routing and CISCO packet tracer. As a culminating activity students will compete by analyzing and fixing vulnerabilities on the provided Windows and Linux images. 15 hours lecture, 25 hours laboratory.

NCIS 201B - CyberSecurity Advanced Skills

The class will provide resources to survey IT professions, industry certifications, technical and soft employment skills, salaries, and self-assessment survey of skills and competencies. Students will be able to identify an IT program pathway at LPC. In addition, students will be granted access to several free resources, for example Google Professional Career Certificates courses, AWS Cloud computing, and others. 18 hours laboratory.

Some examples: IT Support, Data Analytics, Project Management, UX Design, Cybersecurity, Digital Marketing and E-commerce and many other career certificates sponsored by Google. NCIS 211 is FREE, noncredit, zero textbook cost course designed for students who are undecided on their career choice and want to explore various technology related jobs, or students interested in finding a technology job, or students improving their skills for a current role. Each certificate allows users to learn at their own pace and is accessed FREE through a third-party online learning platform called Coursera. 54 hours lecture.
