I hope you have a great Thanksgiving break…

Some important items below…..


If you planning on attending Las Positas College this Spring 2018, there will be a drop for non-payments before the winter break.  This drop of non-payments does not apply if you have done one of the following…

  • Utilizing either CH 33 – Post 9/11, CH 33 TOE – Post 9/11 Transfer of Eligibility, or CH 31 Voc Rehab and have completed all requirements, including coming into the Veterans Resource Center to request for certification of courses for VA Educational benefits for Spring 2018 classes.  DEADLINE to have certification request for Spring 2018 to avoid drop for non-payment, delays in VA payments, such as BAH is Dec. 13th.
  • Are eligible for Board of Governor fee waiver for Spring 2018.  Check your class web or contact LPC Financial Aid Office.
  • Have submitted an award letter for Cal Vet Dependent Waiver for 2017/2018 to LPC Veterans First Office.  Verify that this has been done with the LPC Veteran Specialists.

If you do not meet one of the three above, pay fees/tuition for Spring 2018 with Admissions and Records asap.

Other VA Educational Benefits: CH 30, 1606, and/or 35 does not pay the school directly for tuition/fees.  If you are utilizing on of these benefits and do not have the Cal Vet Dependent waiver or the financial BOGG waiver, pay your tuition and fees for your Spring 2018 classes in Admissions and Records.

Deadline to certify classes for any VA educational benefits to avoid delays in Spring Payments is DECEMBER 13th, 2017


An excellent opportunity to network, strengthen your resume, practice interviewing with industry experts, determine which career best fits you, sign up for the Veterans Career and Educational Planning Course  offered this Spring 2018.  Units are CSU transferable and count as electives.  If you are a Veteran and do not want to use your VA educational benefits for this course, not eligible to utilize VA educational benefits for this course, and/or do not have VA educational benefits.  The Veterans First Program will pay for mandatory tuition/fees and text book costs for this course.
