Why is Dual/Concurrent Enrollment Important?

Participation in CCAP Dual Enrollment and Concurrent Enrollment is likely to improve high school completion rates, increase college enrollment and degree attainment. It will also reduce time to degree and the cost of education while eliminating barriers to college and career!

What is most important for me to know as a family member?
  • Credit courses are college courses and will remain on the student's permanent record even if the secondary school uses the coursework as high school credit.
  • All prerequisite coursework must be completed prior to enrollment.
  • There will be no supervision provided for students prior to or after classes.
  • Coursework has college-level content, which may include mature materials.
  • The Chabot Las Positas Community College District is authorized to evacuate students in case of emergency.
  • The student is held responsible for being aware of all College policies and procedures, dates, deadlines and for taking all necessary action before such deadlines pass.
  • By completing the Dual Enrollment AUTHORIZATION Form, you are approving your student to take Dual Enrollment courses with Las Positas College. You will only submit this form once and it is valid for your student's high school years.
  • To avoid technical issues, we recommend parent/guardians use a different device or different browser from what their student is using. (i.e. use your phone/tablet if your student uses the home computer and/or use Chrome if your student is using Internet Explorer)
  • Know the registration dates for Dual Enrollment students at LPC.  Follow this link to check Current Registration Dates.

What is FERPA?

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) governs all college records and allows release of academic information, including grades, to the student only, regardless of age.  Academic information cannot be released to parents.
