Cultural Community Center

Welcome to the vibrant and inclusive Cultural Community Center of Las Positas College, where we wholeheartedly embrace the importance of fostering a sense of belonging and meeting the diverse needs of our community of learners. Our primary mission is to create a welcoming and supportive space that caters to all students, regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.

Stepping into our center, you will discover an array of services and resources meticulously designed to empower and uplift you. Among these offerings, our Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) space stands out, providing cultural activities and fostering connections with like-minded individuals. We also provide a safe and inclusive environment for undocumented and AB 540 students, equipped with the necessary resources and support to navigate any educational challenges they may face.

If you are a DACA student, we have a dedicated space where you can access essential information, guidance, and advocacy. Furthermore, we understand and acknowledge the unique experiences and needs of students from Mixed Status Families, providing them with a supportive space to address concerns and offer valuable assistance.

For ESL learners, our center creates a nurturing environment that offers resources and support to enhance language skills and ensure academic success. Moreover, students involved in the Muslim Students Association can find solace and a strong sense of community within our center, as we embrace diversity and actively promote understanding. MSA students will have a gathering place for students with various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. MSA will foster a sense of cultural identity, encourage student leadership, facilitate critical reflection, and stimulate informed action and social justice advocacy.

We take great pride in hosting a satellite office for the Black Cultural Resource Center, which serves as a dynamic hub for community engagement, dialogue, and empowerment. This space offers an opportunity to celebrate the richness of Black culture, history, and remarkable achievements.

Our commitment to student success extends beyond space offerings. Our Learning Communities, including the Puente Project and the Umoja Program, provide a supportive and nurturing space within our center.

We cordially invite you to explore our center and take full advantage of the inclusive spaces and comprehensive support we offer. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that you feel deeply connected, genuinely valued, and thoroughly supported throughout your entire educational journey.

Student Services departments, offices, and programs have been established to help students attain their educational goals and add value to the college experience. Each Student Services entity is designed to assist students in the decision-making process by helping them identify and clarify academic, career, and personal goals. It is our hope that students will seek Student Services assistance throughout their educational journey at Las Positas College.
