Youth Programs: Learning Opportunities for Kids, Tweens, and Teens

Fall 2024

We are excited to offer a variety of educational and interactive camps and after school and weekend programs for our rising youth and young adults. For more details and to register, please go to our registration website. 

• New! Spanish Language Lessons: Spanish Explorers: We offer in-person classes for three different age groups: 6-7, 7-9, and 10-13. Classes begin early September. 
• Hindi Language Classes: We offer live remote classes for two age groups: 5-8 and 9-12. Classes begin Early September. 
• New! Young Artists Workshop: Make Your Own Musical Instrument: Those ages 9-15 and their parents are welcome to join our new, 2 day art workshop. Class begins mid-October. 
• New! Shaolin Kung Fu: This class is for those 7-13. Sign up before July 31st and use code KUNGFU20 for $20 off . Class begins early September. 
• New! STEM FUNdamentals with LEGO® Materials: This after school enrichment program is for those grades 1-5 and runs for the duration of the fall term. Class begins early September. 
• Pokémon Engineering using LEGO® Material Camp: Looking for an academic STEM program while your children are on Thanksgiving Break? This in-person camp takes place 11/25-27. This class is for kids 5-9.
• Java Programming: Basics: This in-person class is great for a weekend STEM learning opportunity. This class is for those 12-16. 

Additional Fall 24 classes that welcome kids, tweens, and teens:

10 and Over:

• Women's Safety & Self-Defense Workshop: In partnership with Tuff Love Fitness, a Bay Area non-profit, learn how to protect yourself in a safe, supported and empowered environment! All those 10+ are welcome. 

11 and Over:

• New! Bird Watching of Alameda County: We are so excited to have two on-site fall bird watching excursions, Del Valle (9/21) and Shadow Cliffs (10/26). Great family activity! Those 11 and over with an accompanying parent/guardian are welcome. 

12 and Over:

• New! ProCreate Fundamentals:Learn Digital Drawing for Beginners: This is the perfect class for your aspiring digital artist! Class begins early September. 
• New! Polymer and Porcelain Clay Classes! We have so many to choose from: Make your Own Polymer Clay Charm, Make your Own Polymer Clay Christmas Ornament, and more. Classes run throughout the fall. 

13 and Over:

• Introduction to Japanese Language & Culture: This live remote language course welcomes those 13 and over. Class starts early October. 

14 and Over:

• New! Shaolin Kung Fu: (Ages 14 & up): Not only do we have Kung Fu for those 7-13, but we have a second section that welcomes all 14 and over. Class starts mid September. 

16 and Over: 

• New! Mural Painting Workshop: Join us for this one-of-a-kind , 2 day, art workshop with local mural artist Thomasin Dewhurst. 
• Writing Courses: We have many writing courses to choose from. They are live remote. 
• Ladies! Start Your Engines! Car Maintenence for Women: Do you wonder what those lights on your dash mean? Can you check your own fluids? What about changing a spare tire? Can you use jumper cables? Can you check your tires properly? Let's make your car less intimidating together!
