Biotech Bootcamp
for High School Students
*NEW* Biotech Bootcamp is now offered as noncredit biology courses. They can be found in the Las Positas College catalog or Summer 2024 class schedule as NBIO 201 and NBIO202.
Biotech bootcamp 2024 -
SESSION 1:
NBIO 201 Intro to Biotechnology
For 10th – 11th Graders
July 8 – 11, 2024 | 10am – 3pm | $20
In this week-long camp, you will get a chance to utilize some basic molecular biology
tools used in biotech to observe and measure cells, viruses, proteins and DNA.
SESSION 2:
NBIO 202 Intermediate Biotechnology*
*Recomended High School Biotech or Session 1 Completion
For 10th – 12th Graders
July 15 – 18, 2024 | 10am – 3pm | $20
Do your favorite foods contain GMOs? Is your lettuce contaminated with bacteria? Learn
about genetically modified organisms, while conducting PCR and immunoassays used in
actual food science labs.
How to Apply:
Students interested in signing up for Biotech Bootcamp for Summer 2024 can do so by applying for Concurrent Enrollment.
Students, please note that while the deadline for concurrent enrollment says May 3, enrollment for Biotech Bootcamp will remain open until the sessions are fillled.
