On-Campus Events

Transfer Application Lab

Every Tuesday (9:00-1:00), students can meet with a counselor during drop-in hours to get help with:

  • CSU or UC admission applications
  • UC TAG application
  • private or out-of-state college applications
  • figuring out their transferable GPA
  • guidance on writing personal statements and UC personal insight questions

The Transfer Application Lab services are on a drop-in basis. Visit us in the Transfer Center (room #1604)! Note: the hours are subject to change.

The Smart Shop Series

This fall, LPC is launching The Smart Shop Series! These are workshops that are designed to help students build their skills for success in academics, transfer and career. Visit The Smart Shop Series website for more information and to register for a workshop.

The Transfer Center will be hosting workshops on topics such as: how to complete the CSU application; how to complete the UC application; how to TAG to a UC; how to answer UCs personal insight questions; and how to choose a major. Off-Campus Events

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Caravan at Contra Costa College

Visit Contra Costa College on Wednesday, February 14th from 10:00 - 1:00 to meet with 20 different HBCU campuses all in one spot! At this event, college admissions staff will review your transcripts and provide you with on-the-spot admissions. Your application fees are waived and you can apply for and receive scholarships. Black College Expo 2018

Visit the Oakland Marriott Convention Center on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH from 9:00am-5:00pm for the Black College Expo! This event is FREE for all Community College students with identification. At this event you will learn about the transfer admission guarantee program to 35 HBCU campuses across the United States. Bring your college transcript(s)--unofficial are okay. Visit the California Community College Pathways to HBCU Booth to find out:
* how easy it is to transfer to one of the 35 HBCU partners
* how you can apply to one or all 35 of the HBCU partners using the Common Black College Application for FREE (must be transfer ready)
