Faculty, classified professionals and administrators from across the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District gathered at Las Positas College on Thursday, August 20th, for the District's 2026 Convocation, kicking off the new academic year with a celebration of community, accomplishments and shared purpose under the theme "Building the Future Together."

Las Positas College welcomed 127 students to its first-ever Special Programs New Student Orientation on August 11th, bringing together learning communities, support programs, and campus partners to help students begin their college experience connected and supported.

Since 2023, the Livermore Valley Craft Beer Foundation has turned a community beer festival into firefighter training.

Tropical Welcome Back brought plenty of energy to the LPC Quad on September 9th and 10th, creating a lively start to the academic year. With warm weather, tropical decorations, and water misters throughout the event, students had a chance to enjoy the festivities while staying cool.
