Participant Agreement and Waivers

Thank you for joining our growing famiy of life-long learners. During the registration process, you will be asked to review and agree to the following. Please find them below for your reference:

Community Education Policies

As part of the Participant Agreement and Waiver form that is completed during your registration process, you will be asked to confirm that you have read, understand, and agree to the following:

Canceled Classes

Classes canceled by Las Positas College will be refunded in full. In the event of a cancellation, you will be notified via e-mail. Refunds will be processed automatically. You do not need to submit a refund request.

Drop/Refund Policy


We will gladly process your request for a refund if it is received in our office by 4 pm, three business days prior to the starting date of the class. For instance, if a class starts on a Monday, the refund request must be received in the Community Education office by 4:00 pm Wednesday of the prior week.

We cannot accept requests for drops/refunds, regardless of the reason, if they are received fewer than three business days prior to the class start date. Community Education is a self-supporting program and is funded by course registration fees. No refunds will be granted after the three-day deadline.

If a refund is granted, students may save a $15 service fee per class by electing to receive a refund in the form of an electronic voucher. Once a voucher is issued, it will not be converted to a refund for any reason. The voucher is good for any upcoming Community Education classes and does not expire. If a voucher is not selected, after the $15 per class charge is assessed, the remaining fees will be refunded based on the following:

Please Note

  • No refunds for missing one or more classes or going to the wrong location.
  • Refunds will not be pro-rated.
  • Credit card refunds will only be issued to the same credit card used during the initial transaction.
  • Prior to enrollment, tution cannot be pro-rated or adjusted to accomodate anticipated missed classes. 
  • Class enrollment is not transferable.
  • If you register less than three businuess days prior to the class start, you are not eligible for a refund of any kind.
  • We do our best to accomodate those that would like to register on the start date of a class, but we cannot guarantee enrollment. 

Parking

Remember, parking on campus is by permit only. There is a daily $3.00 parking fee, or you can purchase a parking pass for the semester. Purchase your parking permit here. 

Community Education students are also required to abide by parking rules and regulations. Community Education is not responsible for any traffic violations as outlined on the Fine for Parking page. Head-in parking only.
