Las Positas College partnered with Quest Science Center to host the inaugural Planetary Health Summer Institute, an immersive STEM experience that engaged students through hands-on learning, exploration, and real-world environmental science. Supported by LPC's STEM/MESA programs and campus resources, the week-long institute received overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and families and showcased the impact of community-based education.

This summer, Community Education at Las Positas College welcomed hundreds of young community members to campus for a season filled with learning, creativity, and fun. From jazz ensembles and multi-media art projects to robotics, basketball, Public Safety, First-Aid and Babysitter CPR Certification, and many other hands-on camps, students had the opportunity to discover new interests, build confidence, and develop lifelong skills in a supportive environment.

The Child Development Center proudly celebrated the accomplishments of our preschool graduates as they prepared to take the next step in their learning journey. The graduation ceremony brought together children, families, and educators to recognize each child's achievements, development, and readiness for elementary school.

On May 19, 2026, our campus community celebrated two big milestones in Student Services: the promotion of Dr. Jeanne Wilson to Vice Chancellor of Educational Services and Student Success, and the upcoming retirement of Yvette Nahinu, Executive Assistant.

Two Las Positas College students, Zarek Leal and Matt Jones, recently represented LPC at the prestigious Hult Prize, the world's largest student startup competition. The annual program challenges students from around the globe to develop for-profit businesses that address some of the world's most pressing issues, with the opportunity to compete for $1 million in startup funding.
