Dr. Julie Ford is Director of Vocal-Choral Activities at Saint Mary’s College of California, where she directs three ensembles (Glee, Chamber Singers, and Jazz Singers), oversees the private voice program, teaches private voice and Vocal Kinesiology-based Pedagogy courses as well as classes in Conducting, Choral Leadership, Lyric Diction, Jazz Performance Practices, Piano, and Musicianship. Celebrated for her cross-genre artistry and science-informed teaching, she champions vocal health and a non-genre-biased curriculum designed to empower artistic versatility across genres. Her ensembles have earned three Gold Medals at the World Choir Games (Chamber and Pop Ensemble categories), top honors at the California Jazz Championships, presented featured concerts at Carnegie Hall, and appeared at state, national, and international conferences.

Dr. Ford holds a Doctorate in Choral Conducting (University of Oklahoma), a Master’s in Conducting (Eastman School of Music), a Bachelor’s in Vocal Performance (San Jose State University), and certification as an Estill Voice Training Master Teacher. A featured soloist on A Jazz Christmas: Laughing All the Way, she is a frequent presenter, guest conductor, adjudicator, and clinician at regional, state, national, and international conferences.
