Mezzo-Soprano Shauna Fallihee is a classical singer, voice and movement educator and the founder of Embodied Singer: a multi-disciplinary, holistic vocal pedagogy. Shauna has had the pleasure of serving on the voice faculties of Holy Names University, San Francisco City College, and Chabot College as well as numerous San Francisco Bay Area high schools and choral programs and has served her private voice studio since 2002.
An active performer, Shauna has been featured with numerous Bay Area ensembles including San Francisco Choral Society, Masterworks Chorale, Albany Chamber Orchestra, San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra, Open Opera, West Bay Opera and the Old St. Mary’s Cathedral Noontime Concert Series. As an ensemble singer, Shauna has performed with American Bach Soloists, AVE (Artist’s Vocal Ensemble), Cantata Collective, and San Francisco Renaissance Voices. Deeply dedicated to the performance of new music, Shauna has performed world premieres and contemporary works with Empyrean Ensemble, Facing West Shadow Theater, NothingSet Ensemble, San Francisco Composers Chamber Orchestra, Opus Project, Wild Rumpus, Ensemble Mik Nawooj, Stanford Laptop Orchestra and enjoyed a decade with new music chamber choir Volti.
Shauna’s own wellness journey led her to become an instructor and international Master Teacher Trainer of The Dailey Method, alignment-focused barre and indoor cycling. In addition to her B.M in Vocal Performance and M.M. in Vocal Pedagogy, Shauna holds certifications in Yoga (RYT-500), Myofascial Release (certified Roll Model Method practitioner), and meditation studies in the Theravada tradition. She has synthesized these complementary modalities with fact-based voice teaching into her own program Embodied Singer, offering workshops, classes, and the Embodied Online library which features over 100 videos of voice instruction, movement, myofascial, meditation, and breath practices. www.embodiedsinger.com
