Committee Tasks for 2022-2023
- Reviewed status and future plans for permitting and repair of EV chargers on LPC campus.
- Discussed updates to campus projects such as the mammoth bone display and bond development projects.
- Discussed plans for potential student housing.
- Discussed facilities concerns, such as adding dispensers for feminine hygiene products where needed, changing water pressure in some buildings, and the use of rodent poison on campus.
- Received updates from district facilities committee.
- Received regular updates from climate action fellow on zero waste reports, LPC Environmental action student club, planning Earth Week, the LPC Climate Action Plan, the formation of the LPC Climate Action Work Group, and grant applications.
- Reviewed drone surveys, including those for garbage receptacles, campus foliage, solar cells, vineyards, and structures.
- Discussed the search for a waste management vendor that can process recycling for LPC.
Committee Tasks for 2021-2022
- Discussed updating the campus online map
- Discussed considerations for safely conducing drone surveys, and shared results of a campus drone survey, including analysis of vineyard water consumption
- Reviewed a campus tree inventory, calculations for carbon sequestration, and potential use a landscape planning tool
- Worked with new campus Climate Fellow on improving transportation options, waste streams, and hiring student interns to assist with campus drone projects, regenerative energy systems, and a campus waste assessment.
