Dear Friend and Colleague:

The Veterans First Program has served student veterans and military affiliated families for over 15 years at Las Positas College. We support students who served in the US Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Reservists, and active duty who are optimizing on their veterans’ education benefits. Our focus is to help those who protected our freedom. We aim to help veterans adjust and transition from military life to civilian/college life. Many are older, returning students who are pursuing their higher education.

This year, we are hosting an “Honoring our Veterans” First Annual Golf Tournament at the Las Positas Golf Course on Saturday, November 30, 2024. We are seeking tax deductible sponsorship to help defray costs, cover the fees for veterans who cannot otherwise afford to play, and raise funds for a worthy cause – to help veterans at the college.                                          

The golf tournament will include a raffle basket give away, silent auction, and boxed lunch.

All the funds raised will be benefit veterans and military affiliated students at Las Positas College. Funds will go toward scholarships, stipends for gas (for veterans who drive over 50 miles one way to attend class, e.g., Merced and Sacramento), stipends for diapers/childcare, and incidentals that VA education benefits do not cover.

We truly appreciate your tax-deductible generous contribution in the form of either a sponsorship (see attached levels) or in the form of gift certificates and/or goods and services that we can use as auction and/or raffle items to raise the funds to support our programs.

Sponsoring our event is another great way to gain visibility and enhance your brand with veterans and military affiliated families attending Las Positas College.

We would appreciate your earliest donation and/or sponsorship commitment prior to September 30, 2024, so we can provide maximum visibility of both your donation & business organization.

SPONSORSHIP LEVELS

Funds raised will support services provided to and for veterans and military connected students at Las Positas College.

Your funds will go toward:

• scholarships
• childcare stipends and "operation diaper change"
• gas cards for student veterans who commute one way over 50 miles 
• relief funds for students who need supplies for school that benefits do not cover
• stipend for academic support - specifically for math (Trig, Calculus, Algebra)

Our target fundraising goal is $20,000
