Is medical insurance needed or billed to use the health & wellness center?

No, services are available to all enrolled students that pay a health fee. No medical billing is done at the SHWC. You do not need to have insurance to use the Student Health & Wellness Services as your prepaid student health fee covers most services. However, your student health fee does not cover hospital care, referrals to specialists, medication, diagnostic testing, dental, vision, or emergency transportation. For these reasons, we strongly recommend you obtain health insurance.

The Health & Wellness Center will work collaboratively with your medical provider treating minor illnesses and injuries, as well as, preventative health care services, and will refer you out for chronic and complex conditions.
