  • Check your unofficial transcript to confirm your GPA is 2.0 and that you are in good standing.
  • Start your application by clicking on "Enroll Here!!!" below.
  • Contact Dr. Eagan or Dr. Wing Brooks with any questions.
  • Make an appointment with a counselor soon so that you can work the courses into your Student Educational Plan.
  • Contact LPC Financial Aid (and fill out the FAFSA if you have not already) so that you can learn more about using financial aid and federal Pell Grant funds to study abroad. Review the slide show and the links below for scholarships you can apply for!

Rotary Club of Pleasanton

The Rotary Club of Pleasanton Foundation has been an active provider of college / trade school scholarships to Pleasanton High School graduates for more than thirty years.  Within the last 11 years, they have been able to expand their scholarship program to many of the same students in their progress of a college education and pursuit of earning their degree. One must be a Pleasanton H.S. Grads and graduating high school or with sophomore standing at a college. March 31 deadline.

Donald R. Culton Study Abroad Scholarship

Dr. Donald R. Culton was the first-full-time administrator for international education at a California community college and laid the groundwork for community college study abroad that expanded opportunities for more students to have an internationalized experience. Deadline Apri 1, 5 pm.

Diverse International Women of Color

Diverse International Women of Color’s mission is to inspire, encourage and promote opportunities for women of color to travel abroad, experience different cultures and broaden their horizons beyond the United States. Deadline April 12, 8:59 pm 

Pell Grants

Students can access their federal Pell Grants once they consult with a financial aid counselor. To be considered full-time, they would also want to take an additional 6 units during the second 5-week summer session.

Federal Direct Loan Program

This would be useful to help students cover their program fee while they are waiting for scholarship money to be awarded or summer financial aid to arrive. Closes April 30. To qualify for a Direct Loan, students must:
✔ Complete the FAFSA and submit required financial aid documents.
✔ Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements.
✔ Be enrolled in at least 6 units at Las Positas College in an eligible degree or certificate program.
✔ Have a Student Educational Plan (SEP) on file.
✔ Not be in default on any prior student loans or owe a repayment of Title IV financial aid.
