Our Winery

The Campus Hill Winery at Las Positas College is one of the few licensed wineries on a California college campus. Our teaching winery offers students hands-on experience with all aspects of wine production. We produce, bottle, label and sell award winning wines.

Las Positas College opened new instructional facilities including a Teaching Winery and Classroom Building in Fall 2024.

Our facilities and equipment are state of the art, providing students with hands-on skills to complement our rigorous coursework.

Our new Teaching Winery includes:

• Over 6100 square feet of indoor instructional space.
• Building 3700: A covered crush pad (shown on far right of image above) for bins, lugs, grape elevator, destemmer, vibrating sorting table, sorting conveyor, crusher/rollers, and pneumatic press.
• Building 3700: Winemaking space (building on right) for jacketed temperature controlled stainless steel tanks; concrete eggs; bottling line; pumps and hoses. Includes a cold storage room for fruit chilling and case storage, a barrel room with temperture and humidity control, and an analysis benchtop.
• Building 3600: Classroom (building on left) for viticulture, enology, and wine hospitality classes; tasting area and patio; prep lab to support sensory classes; 2 offices; and restrooms.
• Gated yard for vineyard support equipment including ATVs, vineyard truck, and vineyard supplies.
