Student ID & PIN Numbers

To better ensure the confidentiality of your Social Security Number, the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District has implemented a User Identification Number. This number does not replace your Social Security Number as an identification number in the College records and Financial Aid requirements, but it provides us with an alternate unique number to use for reporting, correspondence with you, and for accessing your records within the Colleges' Student Information System.

You may still use your Social Security Number for all transactions with the Colleges, or you may use your new User ID. Faculty and Staff can use either number to access your records, but only the User ID will display on their computer screens, attendance collection systems, grade rosters, and reports.

Student Identification Cards

All students are required to carry a valid photo identification card with the most current validation sticker. This card is essential for use of Library, computer lab, bookstore and other campus services. Cards may be obtained at the Online Service Center, Building 1600, Second Floor, and should be carried at all times.

Student Identification Number (W Number)

The new User Identification Number is a unique number beginning with the letter "W" and an additional eight (8) digits. Your User ID should be entered in CLASS-Web as all 9 digits with no dashes or spaces. (e.g., W12345678).

Personal Identification Numbers (PIN)

Your Personal Identification Number (PIN) is initially set to your birth date in the format MMDDYY (e.g., 090872 for September 8, 1972).
