Public Health Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T)

About the Program

The Associate in Science in Public Health for Transfer Degree is designed to prepare students for a seamless transfer into the California State University (CSU) system to complete a baccalaureate degree in a public health science related major such as: Health Science, Health Science with Health Education option, Health Science with Public Health option, Health Science with Community Health Option, Health Science with Health Promotion & Disease Prevention, Health Education, Public Health, Public Health Promotion, Kinesiology with Health Education, Kinesiology with Health Science option, Kinesiology with Health and Wellness Promotion, Kinesiology with Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, Collaborative Health, and Human Services with Community Health option. The goals of the proposed program are to align with the CSU public health science related Bachelor of Science degrees. The Associate in Science in Public Health for Transfer Degree is designed to provide students with the common core of lower division courses required to transfer and pursue a baccalaureate degree in a public health science related major.

Program Outcomes

Completion Requirements:

  1. Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following:
    1. The Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (IGETC) or CA State University General Education – Breadth Requirements.
    2. A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district.
  2. Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0.

Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT’s) also require that students must earn a "C " (or "P'') or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis.
