Acting Certificate of Achievement (CA)
About the Program
The Acting certificate provides training in the theories and practice of acting for the stage. Students are required to audition for at least two Theater Productions (THEA 47A). The program is designed to provide knowledge and practical experience in performance. This program prepares students to perform in community, amateur, and professional productions of theater.

Program Outcomes
- Upon completion of the Acting Certificate, students are able to develop an understanding
of the role of a character within the context of a play and create
a unique character portrayal in emotional, physical, and vocal life. - Upon completion of the Acting Certificate, students are able to examine and perform within major genres of theater from world theatrical history.
- Upon completion of the Acting Certificate, students are able to make complex, creative,
and bold acting choices during the rehearsal process as a means
of creative exploration. - Upon completion of the Acting Certificate, students are able to work collaboratively
with fellow actors and production staff, demonstrating an
understanding of the professional work ethic of an actor.
