About the Program
Las Positas College offers short-term, tuition free, and noncredit courses in the safe operation of drones and Unoccupied Aerial Systems (UAVs). A certificate focuses on mission planning, basic flight operations, and the legal framework (local, state, and federal). These courses are open to all with no prerequisite experience or equipment and are geared more toward gaining direct user experience. This is a creative starting point to using drones in multiple disciplines and careers.

Program Outcomes
- Safely operate common Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), more commonly referred to as drones.
- Collect aerial imagery in a purposeful manner that results in a professional report and/or presentation.
- Students will have skills necessary to pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification test.
