Spanish Certificate of Achievement (CA)
About the Program
The Certificate of Achievement in Spanish is designed to for students who wish to gain a command of the Spanish language and understand the complex interdependence of the language and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. This certificate is applicable to students who are planning to pursue a Spanish major or minor at a four year college or university. This certificate is also appropriate for students who are currently employed or seeking employment in an area involving the use of Spanish. Students who successfully complete this certificate will be able to use the target language to communicate with Spanish speaking colleagues or customers. Students could include the Certificate on their resume and in a portfolio, indicating a conversational level of Spanish language proficiency.
Program Outcomes
- Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Spanish, students are able to analyze and interpret Spanish texts according to their cultural, literary and/or linguistic content.
- Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Spanish, students are able to demonstrate oral competence in the Spanish Language by using correct grammar, vocabulary, and appropriate register.
- Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Spanish, students are able to demonstrate written competence in the Spanish language by using correct grammar, vocabulary, and appropriate register.
- Upon completion of the Certificate of Achievement in Spanish, students are able to have a clear understanding of the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
