About the Program
The Reddaway Heavy Truck Driving Certificate of Achievement can provide the skills necessary for an apprentice to qualify as trained entry-level truck drivers, as well as for career advancement. The Reddaway Truck Driving is a 7-week apprenticeship program that trains employees using classroom instruction, range and road driving, and practical application of skills used in the operation of a tractor/trailer. Students completing the program will have a hazmat endorsement and be eligible to sit for the Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Students will also receive training in the Smith Safety System by certified instructors and forklift operation.

Program Outcomes
- Identify defensive driving strategies and skills for avoiding collisions in limited/reduced visibility, traction, and space conditions.
- Perform a proper pre-trip, in-route and post trip inspection of a truck/tractor and trailer.
- Demonstrate the safe and proper way to enter and exit the cab of a commercial vehicle.
- Back a tractor and trailer with reasonable proficiency.
