RADS 40A - Radiation Safety

A course designed to provide basic radiation safety instruction. Includes identification of the sources of radiation and radioactive materials, the nature of ionization radiation, biological effects, and risk assessment. 36 hours lecture. Transfer: CSU.
Recommended Course Preparation: MATH 110 with a minimum grade of C or MATH 110B with a minimum grade of C.

RADS 40B - Emergency Response and Monitoring

A course designed to provide overview and understanding of radiological emergencies and instrumentation. Builds upon principles, concepts, and terminology from 40A, and introduces practical use of radiological survey equipment. 18 hours lecture. Transfer: CSU.
Prerequisite: RADS 40A with a minimum grade of C.

RADS 40C - Safety Controls and Regulation
1 units
A course designed to provide further understanding of radiological controls, regulations, environmental impacts, and waste management. 18 hours lecture. Transfer: CSU.
Prerequisite: RADS 40A with a minimum grade of C or instructor approval.
