This page provides information on the various scholarship opportunities and education funding resources available for U.S. military veterans and their eligible dependents.
CURRENT SCHOLARSHIPS FOR VETERANS
VALLEY VETERANS FOUNDATION Mini-Grant Scholarships - multiple scholarships up to $1000
and VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS (VFW Post 7265 )- 1 $500 Scholarship

Veterans Leadership Scholarship Fillable Form
Scholarships are competitive focusing on current veterans pursuing their higher education at Las Positas College. Scholarship applications will be reviewed based on service to community, along with service and involvement with the LPC Veterans First Program.
MILITARY OFFICERS ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN (MOAA) - up to $1000 scholarship. Complete the online application on or before April 12, 2024 (Friday). Will need transcripts and one letter of recommendation.

Multiple Veterans Scholarships on the
LPC Financial Aid Website
- Florendo T. Maduli Memorial Scholarship ($1,000)
Requirements: The student must be a U.S. Veteran in good standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA and plans to attend LPC in the Fall on a full-time basis.
- LPC Veterans First Academic Excellence Scholarship ($3 @ $1000)
Applicant must be a U.S. Veteran, on Active Duty, Reservist, or National Guard. Student
must have completed 12 units, be continuing at LPC and have a 3.5 minimum GPA. Student must be currently enrolled in a minimum of 12 units. Copy of DD214 required.
- Promising First Responders Veterans Scholarship (Min $500 to $1000)
The Promising First Responders Scholarship is for a Veteran who has financial need with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Must be continuing with higher education with Las Positas College or another institution.
Your official major at LPC must indicate a degree in ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE, BIOLOGY: ALLIED HEALTH, EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES EMT-PARAMEDIC, EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES, EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDERS, FIRE SAFETY COMPANY OFFICER, FIRE ACADEMY-FIRE SUPPRESSION, FIRE PREVENTION, FIRE SERVICE TECHNOLOGY, PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENCE, NUTRITION AND DIETETICS, OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH, OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY, SOCIAL WORK AND HUMAN SERVICES, OR PSYCHOLOGY or you will not be matched with this scholarship and you will not be able to apply.
A total of 4 scholarships will be awarded by ranked scores, two awards of $1,000 each,
and two awards of $500.00 each

ASSOCIATION OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY - DEAN CHAPTER:

Application for Academic Scholarship to be awarded May 2024 Submission Date of Completed
Packet: 26 April 2024 @ 6 PM.
The purpose of the AUSA Dean Chapter annual scholarship is to assist currently serving
members of the military, Veterans, and their families in their pursuit of higher education
by awarding a competitive scholarship. This year the Dean Chapter will award four
$2500 scholarships. Scholarship awards must be for continued education at an accredited
educational institution. Certification programs will also be considered. All applicants
must be either a current service member or a veteran, or a direct family member of
a service member or veteran, to be considered for the scholarship.
The Chapter’s annual scholarship application packet consists of the below information
to be submitted in the following order:
- Scholarship Application
- Eligibility Criteria
- School Activities, Leadership Offices Held, Community Activities
- Essay
- Character and Leadership Recommendation from a teacher, counselor, community leader,
or someone whose life you have impacted
- Latest School Transcript (applicant must obtain from school)
- Scholarship Packet Checklist
How to apply? Open the link, complete the online form, download and SCAN YOUR PACKET
AND SEND to lpcveteransfirst@laspositascollege.edu or Deliver to the Veterans Resource Center, Bldg 1310 by the deadline. All scholarship
packets will be sent to AUSA for review.
